That's Rich: Five New Shows to Get Excited About

at .

I'm both scared and excited.

The fall season is almost upon us, which means many early mornings and many late nights here at TV Fanatic, as we aim to bring you the most extensive reviews, spoilers and collections of photos/quotes on the Internet.

Readers are already familiar with the popular shows we cover, from The Vampire Diaries to Grey's Anatomy to Sons of Anarchy. But which new programs are we most excited for? I've listed my top five below.

The Secret Circle, The CW, Thursdays at 9 p.m. (premieres September 15). It's everything you love about The Vampire Diaries, but with witches in place of blood suckers. Britt Robertson leads a talented, attractive young cast in a show that follows The CW formula perfectly: good looks, teen angst, supernatural intrigue.

Revenge, ABC, Wedesndays at 10 p.m. (premieres September 21). The title says it all. Emily Van Camp stars as Emily Thorne, a woman who returns to The Hamptons to seek vengeance against the family that killed her father. Like Gossip Girl, it uses it takes full advantage of the potential behind its rich, snooty setting. You'll be hating Madeleine Stowe's Victoria Grayson in a matter of minutes.

American Horror Story, FX, Wedesnday at 10 p.m. (premieres October 5). From the mind of Ryan Murphy, starring Connie Britton as a character who, at one point, has sex with a man in a rubber suit. Trust us, this one is as weird and as wild as it gets.

Up All Night, NBC, Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. (premieres September 14). Will Arnett. Christina Applegate. Maya Rudolph. I'm in.

Homeland, Showtime, Sundays at 10 p.m. (premieres October 2). Claire Danes is back on TV as someone very much unlike Angela Chase. Is her CIA agent unstable? Are her suspicions over Damian Lewis' returning POW valid? A fascinating concept from a man I trust: producer Howard Gordon (24).

Also worth DVRing: Ringer, Person of Interest, Hart of Dixie, 2 Broke Girls.
