Elizabeth tells Rosemary she wants to wait and take things slowly with Nathan. Nathan observes Faith negotiating with Lily to eat before playing. He offers some parenting tips and reveals that Alllie's dad is still alive, which Allie overhears.

Edwin announces that Montague will be arriving the next day. Lucas looks nervous, and Henry wonders if it's worth the fuss.

Elizabeth and Jack visit Sargent.  Jack wants to learn to ride, which Nathan and Bill encourage, but Elizabeth isn't ready for yet.

Dora Watson calls to inform Faith she's being released and will pick Faith up at the end of the week. Faith isn't ready to say goodbye.

Bill and Rosemary discuss Clayton's testimonial and whether Montague could be that underhanded. They’re shocked when he arrives. Mike is hostile as he tries to check-in. Bill and Rosemary confront him, and he wants to let bygones be bygones. Edwin arrives and greets him warmly, looking suspicious.

Allie wants to know more about her birth father. Nathan continues the story that he traveled a lot, but she's not buying it. She senses that Nathan doesn't like him, and he admits Dylan doesn't like him either. She storms out of the house.

Lucas wishes they'd conducted business over the phone, but Montague insists that it must be in person if it involves money. Henry goes over the terms, but Montague insists on a 60/40 split. They eventually agree, but Henry is uneasy about this deal.

Nathan visits Elizabeth to invite her on a Sunday ride. When he tries to ask Allie to watch Jack, she avoids him, and he confides in Elizabeth about Allie wanting to know more about her birth father.

Allie tells Angela she can't remember her birth father but was told he left because he couldn't handle losing her mom. Allie struggles without knowing where she came from.

Bill and Rosemary confront Lucas about Montague being in town. They're horrified that he's here to bid on the resort, and Rosemary reminds Lucas of everything he did to the town. Lucas is sure Montague is innocent of his shooting.

Rosemary thinks the people deserve to know the truth, but he begs her to trust him.

Elizabeth finds Allie looking through telephone directories, but she can't find anything on Dylan. Allie is frustrated because she never knew her mom, which increases her longing to know Dylan. She doesn't understand why Nathan won't talk about him or what to do.

While Elizabeth understands, she urges her not to shut Nathan out.

Minnie and Joseph are watching Lily who tries to steal an undecorated cupcake. Minnie relents and suggests a decorated one if Faith agrees. Faith reminds her to thank Minnie.

Once they’re alone, Faith tells Joseph that Mrs. Watson is returning, which is great, but she's not ready to say goodbye. Joseph suggests focusing on her time with Lily and giving Lily the perfect Hope Valley day.

Bill stops by and buys Jack a pony. Elizabeth doesn’t look thrilled but can't say no with how excited they both are. Bill offers to teach him to ride. They name him Pal the Pony.

Allie made Nathan dinner. He knows she’s buttering him up. She wants to meet Dylan. She knows he travels a lot and wants to know if he or the Mounties can track him down.

When he refuses, Ahe gets mad and starts calling him Uncle Nathan instead, begging him to let her do this.

Rosemary is struggling because she wants to write about Montague's bid for the resort, but Lucas wants them to keep quiet. Lee doesn’t think she has an ethical choice as a journalist, but he understands her hesitation.

Nathan comes by to see what Elizabeth said and realizes Allie misinterpreted the words to her liking. Elizabeth apologizes, says she’d never undermine him, and she told Allie not to shut him out.

He says Allie called him Uncle Nathan to prove a point, and Elizabeth reassures him that he has been there for Allie every day of her life. Nathan doesn't know how to tell Allie the truth.

Lucas storms into the office and says they may have wrecked everything as there haven’t been any other bids. He’s angry because he thought Lee was behind the resort. Lee is but not behind Montague. Lee doesn’t think it’s the worst thing if Montague backs out.

Still, Allie won't talk to him, but Nathan tries to tell her that he’s in prison. He wanted to tell her the truth but she wonders if he changed like prison changed Grandpa Archie. She won’t give up on wanting to meet him.

Molly, Ned, and Florence are horrified to learn the truth, though Montague says he has nothing to hide. Montague begins to have second thoughts but shakes on the deal with Lucas as someone watches them.

Bill teaches Jack to hold the reins and says he's a natural like his dad. Elizabeth asks Nathan to assist in riding lessons.

Mei and Robert curl Faith and Lilly’s hair so it's fresh for Grandma. Lilly admits she misses Grandma but thinks Grandma misses her more.

Joseph joins Faith as she watches Lily play with her friends. Joseph suggests Faith ask Mrs. Watson if she can stay involved in Lill’s life, adding it’s a blessing that Lily has another person who loves her. Lily comes by wanting Faith to play with her.

Lily had the best day, so Faith tells her that Grandma is coming back. Lily wants to have a day with the three of them. She tells Faith she loves her.

 

Nathan tries to apologize to Allie, and she does, too. She agrees readily when he says meeting Dylan right now isn’t a good idea.

Someone attacks Montague. Bill hears something and finds him in the barn. Bill tries to stop Lucas from blaming Rosemary, who feels bad enough. Henry tries to comfort her after Nathan, Lucas, and Bill go to the doctor's, but she feels terrible.

Montague thinks it is bad to get into business since someone wants the governor dead, and now Bill believes he has nothing to do with it. He’s withdrawing his bid.

Elizabeth and Jack meet up with Allie. She tells Elizabeth she's doing okay. She’s still hopeful Dylan has changed. Elizabeth says it's hard letting your child fly, even if they might fall.

Allie fills in at the store so she can use the phone, call the prison, and request to see Dylan.
