Chicago P.D. will be back in the fall, and as previously reported, there will be changes in store.

With Jon Seda being written out of the hit NBC drama following its sixth season, it has now been revealed that Prison Break veteran Paul Adelstein has been drafted in for the show's seventh season.

He will recur as Superintendent Jason Crawford. Chicago PD Season 6 Episode 22 featured the death of Brian Kelton, so Adelstein's character will replace him.

Adelstein took to social media to break the news on Tuesday, and he gave viewers their first glimpse at him in his new role.

"When your hometown calls," he captioned the below image.

Adelstein is no stranger to the small screen, and is coming off a one season stint on I Feel Bad, which was canceled just months ago by NBC.

He also had roles on Private Practice, Scandal, and Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce.

However, he is probably most famous for his role on Prison Break as Paul Kellerman, the man who played both sides and was part of the conspiracy that got Lincoln Burrows arrested.

It's unclear when Adelstein's first episode will air, but knowing he's coming back to the small screen is good enough, right?

There are a lot of changes coming to NBC's #OneChicago franchise in the fall. Chicago Med is losing series regulars Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling.

Donnell is returning for one episode to wrap up his character's story, but there's been no word on whether Kuhling has been offered the opportunity.

The biggest blow to the franchise has got to be Jon Seda being written out of PD. He was part of the show from the beginning, and even moved over to one and done Chicago Justice, before getting his PD role back.

Yo, Al, don't you got some sort of beef with Father McSorley?
