YOU Moving to Netflix for Season 2!

Joe Goldberg is setting his sights on a new destination for fans to watch him stalk his next victim.
Lifetime will not be moving forward with YOU Season 2, reports Deadline.
While that would normally mean that a TV series is canceled, it has been revealed that the series will be moving to Netflix for the already ordered second season and beyond.
“Lifetime had an incredible experience working with Greg Bertlanti, Sera Gamble and the entire team on YOU for Season 1,” the network said in a statement.

“We wish the cast and crew the best as the series continues on at Netflix and can’t wait for the opportunity to work with the creative team again.”
YOU Season 1 was a soft performer in the ratings. It averaged just 0.7 million viewers and a 0.2 rating in the demo, making fans question whether it would be able to survive in the long run.
Deadline notes that Lifetime is shifting focus to original movies instead of scripted series, and it makes sense. The cabler has been struggling to attract audiences to its shows for quite some time now.

After UnREAL Season 3 collapsed in the ratings, the network decided against airing UnREAL Season 4. Thus, the final episodes aired as Hulu Originals.
The network has also let go of Canadian import Mary Kills People, leaving American Princess, the upcoming Jenji Kohan produced series as the sole scripted series on deck.
Whether that will even see the light of day on the network at this stage is another story. It's possible a streaming destination will swoop in to take that as well.
The Netflix move for YOU is a natural one. Netflix was already on board to distribute the series in territories other than the U.S. as a Netflix Original.
This move could be the best one to secure the show more than one more season, but time will tell whether it will find an audience on the streamer.
