ABC has pulled the plug on Roseanne.

The revived comedy series has been a hit in the ratings for the alphabet network, but series star Roseanne Barr has been surrounded by controversy since the series returned to the air.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” said ABC president, Channing Dungey in a statement on Tuesday.

Barr shocked the world with racist comments about Barack Obama's former advisor, Valerie Jarrett who is black, before quickly deleting her tweet.

“Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr shared.

“ISLAM is not a RACE, lefties. Islam includes EVERY RACE of people.”

These racist comments did not go down well, and it paved the way for Barr to issue an apology.

"I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans," she began in her apology.

"I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste."

Alas, the damage had been done, and consulting producer, Wanda Sykes confirmed she was done with the ABC series on Tuesday.

"I will not be returning to @RoseanneOnABC," Sykes shared with her followers a few hours before ABC officially nixed the series.

Roseanne returned to ABC after a 20-year hiatus and was a monster in the ratings. The premiere secured 18.2 million viewers and a 5.2 rating among adults 18-49.

Roseanne Season 10 ultimately averaged a 5.0 rating in the coveted demo, emerging as the second-highest rated scripted show on the air during the 2017-2018 season, behind only NBC's This Is Us.

It's unclear at this stage what ABC plans to schedule in Roseanne's Tuesday slot in the fall. It could derail the network's plan to send Fresh off the Boat and Speechless to Fridays.

If another comedy is not available, it's possible that ABC will schedule a drama series in the 8/7c slot, but we will have more details in the coming weeks.

Roseanne Quotes

Dan: Candyman's home babe.
Roseanne: Oh, my favorite, drugs! What happened to the rest of our candy?
Dan: Funny story. Our insurance don't cover what it use to so I got the drugs for twice the price.

Roseanne: Dan! Dan!
Dan: What? What happened?
Roseanne: I thought you were dead!
Dan: I'm sleeping! Why does everybody always think I'm dead?
Roseanne: You looked happy. I thought maybe you moved on.
