The Good Fight: Renewed for Season 2 at CBS All Access!!
Paul Dailly at .CBS All Access is looking to stay in business with the excellent character of Diane Lockhart.
The streaming platform has renewed The Good Fight for Season 2, and we could not be more excited.
"We’re only a few episodes into the first season and the reaction from CBS All Access subscribers and critics alike has been phenomenal,” said Marc DeBevoise, president and chief operating officer, CBS Interactive, in a statement.
“This series and its characters are just beginning, and we can’t wait to see where Robert and Michelle King, their creative team and the amazing cast take The Good Fight next.”
The spin-off of The Good Wife has taken everything we loved about the original series and took it crazy new heights to craft an addictive and worthy continuation of the franchise.
With a cast that boasts the likes of Christine Baranski, Rose Leslie, and Cush Jumbo, what could go wrong?
Nothing.
The Good Fight Season 1 launched with a broadcast on CBS on February 19. That broadcast achieved 7.2 million viewers and a 0.7 rating.
The total viewer tally was high, but the demo was very weak. Thankfully, it's the total viewers that matter for the streaming platform, and a good chunk of those initial viewers must have signed up to watch the show.
The central plot involves the iconic Diane Lockhart losing nearly everything. Rose Leslie plays Lockhart's goddaughter, Maia, who is involved in a financial scam.
That financial fraud is the reason that Diane loses all of her savings and has to start afresh at a new firm.
Leaving broadcast TV behind, the series has embraced the change to streaming and has found Diane dropping the F-Bomb.
The series currently stands as the first original drama series for CBS All Access, so the chances of it being canceled quickly were always slim.
The series was originally scheduled to debut in May, but production delays on Star Trek: Discovery meant fans could get to enjoy this new series earlier.
Reviews for the series have been stellar, with 100 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
