He needed a special elixir left behind when the Wicked Witch sent her minions to NYC. He gets Robin to steal it for him but Marian switches the vials so he doesn't get the real thing.
Has Marian turned dark now that she's in this world? No, it's something far worse. This isn't Marian at all. Marian is dead and the person inhabiting her body only has one goal, to hurt Regina.
