TV Ratings Report: Did Jane the Virgin Score?
Matt Richenthal at .Backed by strong critical acclaim, Jane the Virgin Season 1 Episode 1 opened strong for The CW on Monday night.
The series debuted to 1.63 million overall viewers, along a 0.6 rating among 18-49-year old, actually building on audience of The Originals and doubling Beauty and the Beast’s figures in the same time slot last October.
The Originals (1.3 million/0.7) matched its season opener, giving The CW its most watched Monday in nearly three years overall.
Elsewhere around the dial:
- The Big Bang Theory (15.6 million/4.6) remained mostly steady, while Scorpion (11.5 million/2.4) dropped a tenth and NCIS: Los Angeles (9.1 million/1.6) didn't move much.
- On NBC, The Voice (13 million/3.9) and The Blacklist (9.8 million/2.8) both inched up.
- Dancing With the Stars (12.5 million/1.9) remained flat for ABC while Castle Season 7 Episode 3 (9.3 million/2.0) lost a few overall viewers, but remained strong in the demographic.
- Gotham Season 1 Episode 4 (6.2 million/2.4) decreased by a tenth, while Sleepy Hollow (4.8 million/1.7) held firm.
