It was a record-setting ratings night for cable television on Sunday.
First, the Game of Thrones Season 3 premiere became that drama its most-watched episode to date.
And now AMC has confirmed that The Walking Dead finale garnered 12.4 million viewers, just enough to break the ratings record it set a month ago for the program's winter return.
The series also pulled in 8.1 million adults 18-49, more than ANY scripted show on broadcast.
“In just three seasons, The Walking Dead has become a pop-culture phenomenon, entertaining millions of passionate viewers and obliterating traditional lines between cable and broadcast television," said AMC President Charlie Collier in a statement.
